Pierre Levy states that social media cannot be controlled in the same way as traditional media. He adds that the protests which emerged lately from the Internet to the streets have been organized by a new generation of people who use the Internet and want their voices to be heard (Levy 2013, 2). This generation, who claims for a better education, will be the future teachers. However, are they really prepared to provide a more questioning and challenging education, in which learner will construct knowledge in a more collaborative, creative and critical way? In an attempt to better understand these future teachers and to optimize the use of mobile media in the language learning process, this research focused on a group of university students (language teachers-to-be). The idea was to find out whether mobile media is being used only as means of communication or whether they are also employed for language learning and teaching. To do so, a questionnaire was answered by different groups of learners (about 100 participants). The paper consists of a brief analysis of the results and the presentation of a proposal for future work.
